I will be voting against the cut to the winter fuel payment today. Ynys Môn households pay among the highest energy costs in Britain. Older people need all the help they can get to stay warm this winter.

No to austerity. Plaid Cymru today voted to protect Welsh pensioners from Labour’s cut to winter fuel payments.

Ynys Môn has a long history of clean energy production, but Tory delays over Wylfa have cost the island over 400 jobs since 2010. I urged the Labour Secretary of State for Wales to back her words with a concrete plan.

Losing the capacity to make new steel is a serious economic blunder that will devastate the communities of Port Talbot. This subsidy alone will not be enough to save all the jobs that so many depend on. Labour must be more ambitious in their attempts to save Welsh steel.
