Lonzen Rugira In fact it is the West's idea of democracy that is in decline all across the Global South. It is in similar decline in the Collective West. As for Africans, we finally realise only organic democracy aligned to our history, circumstances and needs is what we need, not copy-paste.

โ€œWe realised that although the previous Malian authorities had asked France to intervene in 2012, those who created the problem could not be the ones to solve it. So we had to break this cycle. Thatโ€™s why, when we came in, we realised that we had to make sure that we had an

The RPF should pay close attention to these numbers in the context of a post Kagame political environment. It should ask itself what explains the difference in the trust Rwandans have for it versus for Kagame, and work to close the gap. newtimes.co.rw/article/18552/โ€ฆ

Lonzen Rugira Counting the number of times the President has had to intervene in matters that should have been dealt with swiftly a long time ago might be a good place to start the introspection.

The moment we are defeated at who will define the problem, we can never recover at execution. This is why the West and its institutions will die on the hill of defining.

Mukiza Lonzen Rugira Nope, what the Parliamentary elections demonstrate is that the President is more trusted than the FPR-Inkotanyi. In fact, the party benefits from the President's coat-tails, not the other way round. Which is why we need urgent soul-searching as a first step towards self-renewal.

The predicament Ruto is facing is that he is trying to solve the current crisis while looking at the 2027 elections. Once he comes to terms with the reality that 2027 is not happening he will know what to do to overcome the current crisis. The problem is that he wants both.

Rwanda's critics don't know which narrative to push. On the one hand, they say Rwanda is a Western client state promoting Western interests in Congo; on the other, they say the West is tired of Rwanda's dictatorship. These are irreconcilable narratives in a context where the
