Enjoyed a night @Mahrajan with Joyce Craig, candidate for Governor. It was a wonderful event, - good food, good companions, and a chance to say hello to many friends.

Big night tonight for President Biden - a time to celebrate his many years of public service and his commitment to keep America moving in the right direction.

I have known many presidents and some of their families. No one has given me more joy than Michele Obama. She has always been open and shows how much she cares. Her speech at the DNC was wonderful.

Had an opportunity to meet the new president of the University of New Hampshire, Elizabeth Chilton. She is anxious to meet NH people and speak about the value of a university education.

Tomorrow we will be in Boston to celebrate General Lafayette's return to America after the Revolutionary War. We have so many Franco-Americans in District 20 who enjoy celebrating Lafayette Day.

Had the opportunity to meet the command staff of the USS Constitution at the Charlestown Navy Yard yesterday. The commander is a woman and is the 2nd woman to hold this position. If you haven't visited the National Park, put it on your schedule.

Lafayette's return to Boston was a very ceremonial affair. The people of Manchester are very familiar with General Lafayette as we have a Lafayette Park and a thriving Franco-American community.

As we prepare for Labor Day, we have a lot to be thankful for. There was a time when there were no child labor laws, no minimum wage, and laborers were subject to awful circumstances. This is why we support the labor movement.

A really difficult day for New Hampshire - a wife, a husband and a child all fatally shot. What is happening to our society when an 8-year-old boy is a victim of domestic violence?

Every day I hear something about one of my former students. Just today I was notified that Bill Keough passed away. Bill played basketball for me at Bishop Bradley High School and he and his wife were lifelong friends. He will be missed.

My friend, former Senator John Gallus, who served the North Country so admirably, has a birthday coming up. John & I created a friendship that has really grown over the years. He is a Republican, I am a Democrat, but together we got things done. Happy Birthday, John!

Another senseless shooting. Four people are killed for no apparent reason, and it goes on. Violence is becoming an accepted way of life. This is against our moral conscience and must stop.

With the primary a week away, all must do everything they can to get out the vote. Primaries are difficult in presidential years when all eyes are on the November prize. This year there are contests up and down the ballot--a need for all to get out and vote.

A 14-year-old boy murdered 2 students and 2 teachers at a Georgia high school. My heart goes out to those who gave their lives in this terrible action. A child goes to school to be safe and learn; a teacher goes to school to teach and inspire. What is happening to this world?

The countdown has begun. The primary will be here before you know it. The key is "get out the vote". Joyce Craig has a great following. They must show up at the polls on Tuesday.

I have known Nancy Sununu for almost 50 years. I was deeply saddened by her passing. As the mother of 8 and the wife of the late governor and mother of the current governor, she labored through the political wars. She was a wonderful lady and will be truly missed.

The Patriots brought home the bacon- a hard-fought game won by the offensive line and some great defensive plays. Never forget, Lady Luck was on your side.

It is on to the finals - Joyce Craig vs. Kelly Ayotte, a real challenge. Joyce brings a wealth of experience having run the largest city north of Boston. The get-out-the-vote push will be intensive. Every vote counts.

We are preparing for the run to get the roses. 51 days from now we will have a new governor. The road to the corner office will be a difficult journey. We stand behind Joyce Craig in her quest for the Holy Grail.

The political ads have started. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could take that money, feed the poor, house the homeless and invest in our communities. What has happened to reaching out, meeting people, asking for their vote, and sharing their concerns?
