Long time no tweet, so decided to share a picture of my thin sections for my masters project. Amazing trachydacite and trachyandesite samples, which show amazing plagioclase zoning, literally text book examples. Cannot wait to do more with these in the next couple of week 😍

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!!! Even if this isn’t your field of expertise you can still join and learn about VMS deposits. Great thing to add to your CV!!

Spending the day looking at my thin sections. Today was only focused on finding as many zoned plagioclases as I could, so I can finish my guidance map for my SEM session next week. Excited to find out what kind of zoning the plagioclases at Ceboruco show 🌋.

Attended the VMS Workshop organized by the LeicesterUni SEG today! Wouldn’t have thought that I would be enjoying this day so much. Thanks to Steve Hollis from iCrag for taking his time to introduce us to these deposits! Saying this, I’m back at doing more modeling on my project🤠.

Finally getting round to have a closer look at my hand specimen collected from Volcan Ceboruco. Some of them show pretty cool vesicularity and when putting the samples under the binocular microscope they appear to look even better. Cannot wait to put all of these together 🌋🔬

I cannot stress it enough how important it is to have first aid training. It’s a vital skill to have and you literally never know when you need to apply first aid on someone. Thankfully the SEG managed to organize a 2 day outdoor first aid course and I improved my rusty training.

Picture sent to me by my supervisor and I still can’t get enough of it. The insect shaped unit is a dacite dome formed during the 1870-75 eruption of Ceboruco, which is located on the rim of the summit crater. Sooooo pretty!!!!Really want to fly over Ceboruco volcano now 😩🥰

Following up on Marc Reichow tweet. Here is a trachyandesite sample from the Ceboruco rocks. Some more prominent zoning in this sample, which is a strong indicator for water pressure change and magma recharge. Quite interesting, because no amphiboles have been found.

Shoutout to the best supervisor! 🥳I cannot stress it enough how helpful you have been throughout my entire degree! No matter what issues I had at the time, I knew that you’ll listen and try and help! Also I’m glad to have someone to speak German to 🎉🎊🥳

Can’t believe that I have just submitted my last piece of assessment for my masters. Such a strange and sad feeling that I don’t have to work on it, for now at least!🤞🏻Thanks to everyone who helped me and put up with me through this last year 🥰
