Last weekend, Fashion City authors Bethan Bide and Dr Lucie Whitmore gave a talk at the Chalke History Festival! 👠 Get yourself a copy here, and discover the extraordinary stories of the Jewish people who designed, made and sold fashion in twentieth-century London: bloomsbury.com/uk/fashion-cit…
I’m not ready to see it go, but it’s the last weekend to catch our fabulous #FashionCity exhibition London Museum. Go!
Lovely 17th & 18th century stays out in the London Museum Dress & Textile store today! #fashionhistory #dresshistory
Today’s London Museum sparkle is from the mid-20th century. These costumes were worn by dancers at the famous Murray’s Cabaret Club in Soho. They are attributed to Murray’s head seamstress Elsie Birchmore 🌿
After seeing #FashionCity at London Museum Docklands, the The New York Times decided that Otto Lucas deserved a retrospective obituary. I'm so proud to have helped his story be better known: nytimes.com/2024/06/28/obi…
More Murray’s Cabaret Club costumes out today - but a lot less sparkle than last week! I can’t help question the sexiness of brown felt (sometimes unlined 😧) but I love the creativity on show here. All from London Museum 🤎
I really enjoyed the Lore of Loverboy exhibition at Somerset House. Great attention to detail in both the content and the exhibition design - a real treat to see some of these wonderfully textured pieces up close. It’s free, strongly recommend a visit!
Great review for Dr Thomas Ardill's exhibition ‘A World of Care: Turner and the Environment’ at Turner's House in Apollo Magazine @apollomagazine.bsky.social! Open until October 27th.
