Justin Steele says MRI on elbow was positive and detected inflammation. He has been feeling it for a while. No decision on IL yet. Just taking it day by day.

Cubs determined Steele wouldn’t be able to skip a start and return, prompting IL move as he was still symptomatic and wouldn’t be able to throw today. Might only need min IL stint, next 10 days will be important. Counsell: “If we can get him back to normal he’s gonna pitch.”

Jack Neely is warming in the bullpen during the bottom of the 2nd. Shota Imanaga walked two in the second inning which prompted a visit from the pitching coach. But he got out of it without allowing a run.

I've covered multiple no-hitters and tweeting about it didn't ruin any of them. I don't possess that kind of power though that'd be neat if I did. x.com/WetRipley911/s…

Shota Imanaga hops off the mound after striking out Triolo to end the 7th. He hasn't allowed a hit yet vs. Pirates. Pitch count working against Imanaga, though, sitting at 95 pitches.

Shota Imanaga's night is over after 7 no-hit innings vs. the Pirates. Counsell goes to the bullpen and it's Nate Pearson to start the 8th. Some Cubs fans boo seeing Imanaga isn't coming back out. Imanaga's final line: 7 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K on 95 pitches.

Shota Imanaga, Nate Pearson and Porter Hodge have combined to throw a no-hitter against the Pirates in a 12-0 win. It's the 18th no-hitter in franchise history and 2nd combined no-hitter by the Cubs.

Shota Imanaga didn’t know he had no-hitter until after 7th when Counsell told him his night was done. Catcher Miguel Amaya & Nate Pearson realized it was no-no when Cubs fans booed Pearson entering in 8th. Porter Hodge had seen it on bullpen TV & was aware while warming for 9th
