RHP Jorge López has been placed on 15-day IL with a right groin strain. Cubs recall RHP Trey Wingenter from Triple A.

LHP Justin Steele has been placed on the 15-day IL with left elbow tendinitis. Corresponding move to come.

Cubs determined Steele wouldn’t be able to skip a start and return, prompting IL move as he was still symptomatic and wouldn’t be able to throw today. Might only need min IL stint, next 10 days will be important. Counsell: “If we can get him back to normal he’s gonna pitch.”

RHP Jack Neely has been recalled as the corresponding move for Steele to the IL.

Shota Imanaga, Nate Pearson and Porter Hodge have combined to throw a no-hitter against the Pirates in a 12-0 win. It's the 18th no-hitter in franchise history and 2nd combined no-hitter by the Cubs.

This is the first no-hitter thrown by the Cubs at Wrigley since Milt Pappas in 1972.
