The day is finally here! MacArthur ACPS 💫 principal Penny Hairston kicks off the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. "As we gather here today, it is a vital reminder that a building such as this is an investment in our children and in our community," says DouglasMacArthurPrincipal.

“We cherish and appreciate this building and its offering of a modern, welcoming and innovative space where our students can learn and grow and our staff can teach and thrive," says Dr. Melanie Kay-Wyatt at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly constructed MacArthur ACPS 💫.

Alexandria City School Board Chair Dr. Michelle Rief presented a commemorative plaque to DouglasMacArthurPrincipal, to hang inside of the newly constructed Douglas MacArthur that represents the commitment and support of our community to the school and our students.

The new MacArthur ACPS 💫 is open! This gorgeous space will welcome students on Monday. Kudos to the many, many people in Alexandria who made this project happen, it was truly a community effort! #StrongSchoolsStrongCommunities
