Chelsea in a nutshell this first 30… Good going forward, very poor at the back & even worse in transition. Still looks of work to do in particularly with our shape off the ball/transitions. We need to do a better job keeping the ball for sustained periods to stop transitions.

23 - Noni Madueke is the 23rd different player to score a Premier League hat-trick for Chelsea FC, more unique hat-trick scorers than any other side in the competition. Smorgasbord.

This is my thoughts currently. Surely we should’ve had Toney on tap ready? The fact there isn’t looking like there’s a back up plan here is worrying…

Second half has been very poor. Palace switch their shape & Chelsea never adapted. Not sure on the whole Caicedo dropping in as CB & Fofana/Gusto pushing up, seemed counterproductive. Palmer dropping far too deep & front 3 movement has been poor. We’ve looked tired & sloppy.

Worst half of football I’ve seen from Palmer in a Chelsea shirt. Not his day and keeps trying to force it/getting frustrated. Showing his youth there, better days ahead…

Hopefully many Chelsea fans weren’t naive enough to think we had this all solved after Wolves… They’ll be many more days like this, especially when learning a system/Maresca trying new things like he did today & learning about his squad further. Lots of work to do at Cobham.

Flabbergasted that Nicolas Jackson is being so heavily criticised. He is the reason Chelsea create so many high-quality chances: his movement and intelligent positioning is elite tier. Judging him on a single 90th minute chance smells of recency bias and is unfair.
