Nitânis Jaina filmed the role of Young Percy in Bones of Crows. Tonight they walked the Red carpet at #viff2022. She is both Cree and Stó:lō, we are very proud of her to be apart of such an important story, as she is the grandchild of two residential school survivors.

I don't think a lot of #Canucks fans realize that Gino Odjick wore the number 29 to honour his father, Joseph, a Survivor of the Spanish Indian Residential School in Ontario. He was given 29 as his registration number at the school. Here's more about Gino: bcsportshall.com/curator-corner…

I’ve been in contact with the Federal Ministers of Emergency Preparedness and ISC urging them to do all possible to evacuate the people of Bunibonibee Cree Nation-Oxford House ASAP as the fire approaches the community. BCN has no all-weather road. This is a nightmare for people.

Last night, our Chief Richard B Hart delivered a very serious and sobering message on our local radio station. I admire his courage and honesty. Chief Hart talked about the reality, according to experts, that our beautiful Bunibonibee, our home, is in grave danger
