Last week, I visited the Evins Regional Juvenile Center in Edinburg, TX. I spent a few hours visiting with staff to see what, as a State, we can do better to serve our youth. I was here a few months ago and returning to dig deeper into some of my thoughts and concerns. #txlege

I also spoke with the incarcerated youth & let them share their thoughts on what is & isn't working. One issue identified is when some are returned to a bad environment with no additional help/services. Looking forward to finding solutions as we head into next session. #txlege

I will always be there for the families of #Uvalde. Always. Today is another day in an impossibly painful journey. The hurt for them will never subside. Today, I pray that there is justice and some sense of closure for them in this process rather than prolonged suffering. #txlege

Texas mothers are dying as you force them to carry unsafe pregnancies to term. 21 rural hospitals have closed in the last decade, leaving Texans isolated without care. Texas has more uninsured children than any other state. Where's the executive action on those problems, Greg?

Governor Abbott's political maneuvers seem more like an audition for a role in Trump's cabinet than a commitment to Texas. We need leaders focused on unity and progress, not playing partisan games. Texans deserve policies that truly reflect our values. #txlege
