Armenia's trade statistics have gone nuts since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Here's exports to the UAE, which are up 2200% since the invasion. Has demand in the UAE for Armenian goods risen this much? Of course not. This is western goods, mostly from the EU, headed to Russia...

Very well-articulated argument.

Russia relentless campaign to purge Ukraine of evangelical Christians played a big role in changing Speaker Johnson’s views on support for Ukraine aid

Indeed, the only Ukrainian-born member of the U.S. House voted against the bill and helping her home country — and three days after a Russian missile attack killed 18 people near where she was raised in Chernihiv region.

RT spinoff 'Truth in Media' just running promoted ads on this platform now for their new anti-Zelensky propaganda project, resorting to using the usual crew of disgraced individuals & RT contributors as their 'experts'.

New Victoria Spartz amendment to the Ukraine aid bill: the President is banned from forgiving loans to Ukraine without congressional approval.

Rep. Spartz's hometown in Ukraine was bombed yesterday, killing over a dozen civilians.

I think there is a lot to this. Saw it in Crimea in 2014 - far right European 'referendum observers' drinking themselves paralytic in the Hotel Moskva bar in Simferopol and slapping each other on the back about Putin doing something they would love to but never could.

The notion that Nagorno-Karabakh was a western supported 'additional front' and that Putin 'didn't take the bait' is quite a bit of revisionist history.

Massive Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv. At least nine civilians declared dead and more under the rubble of buildings. Ukraine has essentially run out of air defenses because of the cutoff in American aid, and Russia is taking advantage of this strategic

So, West cannot produce enough shells, but also cannot find money to buy shells. Czech initiative still did not get all the money. West, whose GDP is 27 times greater than russia cannot find money to buy 800.000 shells. Third year of war. I was that disappointed only in March ‘22

This is already making rounds but many reactions miss that:
1. Russia's end goal is to control Ukraine
2. Doing it peacefully is cheaper than doing it violently

And this is exactly what RU seemed to do, trying to end the war (P. 2) but in a way that would all but ensure P. 1

Because one of the authors is Samuel Charap, who has been consistently doing this sort of thing - whilst also lobbying against military aid to Ukraine - for years.

… the biggest flaw in the argument is Russia's behaviour at the time. As I wrote back in April 2022, Moscow's forces began installing occupation regimes on the ground as soon as they entered each region. Their intent was to stay, not to negotiate. 2/2 ridl.io/what-is-happen…

Ukraine is being split out to present the illusion of a vote coming, it will be killed some other way or delayed indefinitely. Sincerely don't believe him on this issue.

My reading: Ukraine and Russia were never close to a deal in 2022. Putin agreed to let a low-profile team negotiate, but he was not closely involved or interested at the time. A summit with Zelensky, discussing the status of Crimea, retreating Russian soldiers - unthinkable. 4/4

Very important piece on Russia/Ukraine peace talks in early 2022. What I take from it is that, late into those talks, Russia continued to make new & unacceptable demands that would have turned Ukraine into a weak & undefensible vassal state. foreignaffairs.com/ukraine/talks-…
