I know it’s a little late but I’m worried I might be doing “brat summer” wrong. Am I supposed to be bankrupting myself spiritually and financially in order to satisfy externally imposed aesthetic prerogatives that are fundamentally misaligned with my backwoods/hick values?

if all your clothes are ugly and you hate everything you put on, you can take the edge off the self-hate by calling wearing your ugly clothes ‘going xenomorph mode’ and it becomes a fun cosplay / ironically affirming self-own that costs a lot less than new clothes
