It was a pleasure to co-chair the GRC on Lipoprotein Metabolism with the estimable Daisy Sahoo! Wonderful international representation from 12 countries! Many contributors from Canada including Michael Boffa and our amazing Schulich WesternU trainees Julia St John (Assini) and Justin Clark!

This JAMA study concluded that higher levels of Lp(a) were associated with MACE, MI, and PAD across primary and secondary prevention populations regardless of hs-CRP baseline. LDL-C-lowering remains our focus, but let’s not lose sight of the potential benefits of Lp(a) reduction.

We should never stop talking and educating about Lipoprotein "Little a" [Lp(a)] --- Hopefully everyone viewing this has had themselves and any loved ones tested - start in adolescence and no age is too late to test if for no other reason ASA may help lessen MACE National Lipid Association

Happy Purple Pixie National Lipid Association Ezetimibe is an excellent apoB lowering drug especially in cholesterol hyperabsorbers. It has no effect on Lp(a) metrics. But it is desirable to reduce apoB in all Lp(a) patients

National Lipid Association I think a great time to get your Lp(a) measured is at the same time as your first lipid panel. Hopefully that falls in a primary prevention setting!

National Lipid Association Yes! But important to note that distribution of Lp(a) levels varies in different groups. A higher proportion of Black and South Asian groups have elevated Lp(a) compared to Caucasians. #measureLpa
