This exponential increase in these rodents will eventually cost billions. Not to mention future reliance on importing more food as a result of our inability to produce it here. Ironically, many parts of the green agenda are the biggest threat to our economy and our environment.

Penny beginning to drop. A proper wholesome balanced diet with all the natural nutrients associated is the only way to support good health. Fake and overly processed food neither facilitates good food nor a good eating experience.

It’s now been nearly 6 months since joining NFU Scotland - what a brilliant, exciting, and humbling experience. I’ve now had the chance to observe and reflect, but now going to start being much more vocal and visible on social media. Here’s a short 🧵on my time so far and why…

This is a pretty significant development and is something to be welcomed. Despite assurances, farmers’ interests have been disregarded in previous deals with the cumulative impact posing a major threat. This development suggests our concerns are now being heard

Great panel session at #NFU24 conference where already innovative cross sector farmers highlight the importance of education. Food security is National security and we have a role to play in helping deliver all the positive contributions we make on so many fronts.

For too long dairy farmers have had very little influence or power with regards to the terms they sell their milk (me included) but we now have the opportunity to come together to make the most of what this legislation has to offer.

The most important industry there’s ever been.

Another busy two days in Brussels. As ever so many issues in common with us all, including the weather. Belgian PM addressed us all with full recognition that delivering a positive future can only be done by working with and listening to farmers.

Another day of lobbying at the highest level. There’s choices to make and governments have the ability to make them. Getting them wrong will lead to unintended consequences that no one will want to see. Listening to those on the ground will deliver the outcomes required by us all

It’s been a busy 7 days travelling the country meeting members in Inverurie, the Borders and the Fife Show - great discussions and valuable feedback on the NFU Scotland - looking forward to more discussion over the coming weeks 🐄 🐑 🌾 🥛

Delighted to host over 80 4-H, FFA and other representatives from six different states today. Many taking part in the stockjudging at the Highland last week. They hadn’t seen rain till today, however after braving the soaking they got, they now know why Scotland’s so green.
