First round of Tory leadership election results is imminent!!!

Tory Leadership First Round Result: Kemi Badenoch - 22 James Cleverly - 21 Robert Jenrick - 28 Priti Patel - 14 Mel Stride - 16 Tom Tugendhat - 17 Total Votes Cast: 118 Priti Patel has been eliminated. Jenrick is in first place.

If Jenrick holds on to this 28 voters, then he is guaranteed to get into the top 4 and go to Conference.

Also note... There are only 121 Tory MPs in this parliament. In order to be guaranteed a spot in the top 2, you only need the backing of 41 MPs. If Patel formally endorses Jenrick and all her MPs fall in behind him then he's guaranteed a spot in the run-off to party members.

Very good speech. This should be the standard to which parliamentarians are set. Not requiring notes and nailing the intonation of one's speech should be the norm rather than the exception.
