I remember reading "Love Wins" after hearing tons of dirt from evangelical folks, only to see that Bell took many of his ideas from C.S. Lewis' "The Great Divorce." I felt bamboozled. Flummoxed. Very tame book, even by the standards of the era it was published.

Fun fact: Megan uses this passage to shame the poor, but Paul was shaming the rich. In the ancient world, it was the wealthy who didn’t work (they had slaves & others to do their labor) but the poor worked. Paul’s teaching opposes Mammon, while Megan repeats Mammon propaganda.
