This is half right. I agree on the first point. The second point is entirely wrong. Those people have travelled. And then realized how backward Ontario was.

There is nothing new about the Ontario (and especially Toronto) self-styled progressive having a very decent chance of being, in fact, deeply conservative. In the sense of “averse to change,” not partisan affiliation. Try putting some gentle density in their neighbourhood.

David is right. I think he's right in the big-picture sense, and that's been true for a while. But, a specific point: CASA ending makes a snap election likelier. And every party is going to have to adjust by focusing more on daily, tactical-level politics. Less will get done.
