I said goodbye to the #TarHeelBusTour East bus this morning to join the West bus for a tour of Call Family Distillers in Wilkesboro and Elkin City Hall and public schools!

First wheel build done, with new RideShimano dynamo hub running Busch and Müller lighting. Thanks Arleigh Greenwald for the recommendation and Durham Cycles for the parts and assembly pointers.

IMO it's super useful to think about identification as a way broader concept than just causal identification. "Does this calculation actually address my theoretical question of interest" is a descriptive and measurement consideration too

For those working with multimodal routing + accessibility, Anson Stewart & Andrew Byrd have a new great paper "Half-(head)way there: Comparing two methods to account for public transport waiting time in accessibility indicators" 📑journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.117… 🔓dspace.mit.edu/handle/1721.1/…

According to ITRE at NC State data, pedestrian traffic on the northern part of the American Tobacco Trail dropped significantly in April 2022, while bike ridership increased significantly. Does anyone know of a reason why this might be the case?

JetBlue is offering to sell me a Newark to Raleigh flight via Toronto City - which I think violates US cabotage law? Miles in Transit maybe a candidate for a trip report?

Great to see that Statistics Canada has published estimates of Spatial Access to opportunities (jobs, healthcare, schools etc) for the whole Canada at the dissemination block level www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/27-26-0… We're chuffed to know they used our #rstats📦r5r to calculate access by transit

I'll be honest in that statistics is one of my weaker subjects. Like, I can do box-and-whisker plots and I can find the mean, median, and mode of a data set. But linear regression? That's where I draw the line.

.GoTriangle if you're going to cut a run, maybe don't cut the last run? Was planning to get the 805 home from UNC tonight but the last run got cancelled.
