I live in taly: 8th economy in the world, with a GDP p/c 75% of UK.

41k immigrants arrived by boat Jan-Jul 2022.

Yet here I can see my GP the same day and ambulances arrive in 30 mins or less. It’s almost like the two things aren’t connected.

Just a helpful reminder that, while small boat crossings have increased, part of the reason is that other routes have closed. We are not even close to seeing the record highs of asylum applications we used to see. 1/ .

In 2021, 85% of those who made the Channel Crossing were assessed as having a legal claim.

But this disgraceful Government isn't interested in the truth; only in whipping up hatred towards refugees to try and deflect from the economic carnage they're inflicting.

This obsession with ‘working hard’ and ‘hard working families’ is depressingly Victorian. We live in an age of machines that can do all that stuff for us. People should be having more diverse and more fulfilled lives, not grinding away until they die.

Wonderfully readable account of history and practice of OR - always think it is the gateway drug for NHS managers to get the value of health services research. From siting urgent care centres to nurse rostering, focus on real-world problems

teamCNO 💙 Helen Lunt Davies Kerry It’s great that Kerry got to tell her story. However, I was underwhelmed by the framework. I am also living with and a nurse. I would have liked to see more about how nurses could lead the care and support needed for those of us with .

NOT the case that reduced labour force participation of 50-64yr olds being driven by worse health.

Instead, the already long term inactive seem to be getting sicker. At same time, more people are retiring early.

Two separate trends, requiring different policy response
