The new Climate Bill to change emissions targets published today by Scottish Government should never have been needed. It must not distract from action to build cross-party consensus, raise funds from big polluters & deliver transformational change needed to get Scotland back on track.

After missing recent climate targets Scottish Government was required to report how it would ramp up action to reduce emissions in response. However, their report simply recycled the weak package of climate policies announced in April, and so has done absolutely nothing to reassure us that
