A great paper from NDARC/MI-CRE researchers exploring the lived experience and capturing the voices of patients prescribed opioids for non-cancer pain in the context of government interventions to reduce access.

Clinical guidelines do not recommend use of quit-smoking meds varenicline and bupropion during pregnancy due to lack of evidence on safety. This study by Medicines Intelligence CRE and NDARC, UNSW researchers is reassuring that usage is low. Next step is to fill the evidence gap on safety!

Our paper on the MedIntel Data Platform has now been published in PDS: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/pd…. To quote the National Data Commissioner in DataPoints, it's a "good use of public data"! #BigData #Pharmacoepidemiology Sallie Pearson
