#Trans women have the same right to protection from violence and discrimination as everyone else, both as women and based on their gender identity, as emphasised by numerous UN agencies and human rights experts. Find out more #CEDAW Committee: tbinternet.ohchr.org/_layouts/15/tr…

Tech and disability 🙌🏼 Watching the Paralympics always remind me that we can have more accessible and inclusive environments. Society just chooses not to. Half the athletes competing have no other opportunities at home for independence.

If you go through the accounts you're following to delete any that have been inactive for a while, you can only do this about 20 or so times before you get an error every time saying "Something went wrong, please try again". Why would Twitter try to discourage this?

I was shocked to see the nasty comments directed at Gus Walz because of the emotion he displayed when his dad was accepted as nominee for vice president. Like me Gus is autistic there was nothing weird about him expressing his delight that his father had won the nomination.

I'd love to see an update about the lives of queer, learning disabled folks in the UK led by organisations of learning disabled people. There was joy, wonder, sadness & discrimination in our research. Plus a call out for more solidarity from the non-disabled, queer community. 3/3

If you don’t play Dougie McLean’s Caledonia when you cross the border from England into Scotland, you’re doing it wrong

Not yet regretting not voting Labour in the GE. This is some Tory shit. There’s no need for it. Tax the motherfucking rich. You know, like socialists. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Less than 5 months ago, Keir Starmer felt ‘disgusted’ by the idea of pensioners not being able to heat their homes. What a difference an election makes.

KT✨ It's not safe to imply that some people LET their disabilities hinder them. Like it's literally not safe. That mentality is a massive barrier we have to deal with in order to access the help, resources and accommodations that we really need

Melanie Rimmer (@melanie_rimmer) 's Twitter Profile Photo

If you share a post saying such-and-such a person DOESNT let their disabilities hold them back, you are actively harming ALL the disabled people who don’t have gold medals/PhDs/called to the bar, and so on. Don’t do that.

“Ironically, most diversity workers, as Sara Ahmed noted, are neither funded nor given institutional power to make structural or cultural changes. They are, in essence, asked to be cul-de-sacs where stories of harm are to be heard… but not addressed.” -No Study Without Struggle
