We rode away from SABR into our new friendship. Great to meet you Erica Block and share stories of baseball reporting. Then, when you and your mom were texting the Yankees game as we stood in the TSA line, well, my mind leapt to my mom and our baseball bond. Wondrous!
Along with you, my friend, Perry Barber!
A joyful moment – full of gratitude – when Joe Posnanski turns over his Substack audience (42,000 subscribers) to me and my book the day before #LockerRoomTalk is published tomorrow! Lisa Olson Claire Smith ⚾️ micheleweldon Michele Himmelberg Billie Jean King substack.com/home/post/p-14…
And still we show up, do our jobs, and deal with what's put in our way, as you do Robin Monsky Keep on doing it, my friend.
The legal issue was and is equal access, and every reporter, writer, and broadcaster HAs equal access to tennis players. EQUAL ACCESS is what Judge Motley ruled on -- not locker room access. That's what MLB decided; to keep interviews in locker rooms. National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum ⚾
Thanks Christine Brennan I'm delighted you walked through the opened doors to do the dogged reporting you've done and write the vital columns you get out to us. Hoping we'll talk about Locker Room Talk in D.C. when we get a date for a book talk. AWSM Lisa Olson
