These are fabulous!
Final image looks like a classic augen - large feldspar crystal wrapped by other weaker qtz/mafic crystals that have been reduced in size by deformation.
The others are less clear - same but later recrystallisation? Metamorphic texture?
Any other ideas?

A special place, haunt of Gawain's green knight. Lidar image shows it's a tear in the rocks, where they've slid downhill.
They contain 300 million year old plant fossils - this place was green even then.

A UK specific stone question: is there a standard commercial source of gravel that contains fossils.

The Frank Martin and Pizzetti pieces were sounding proper lush in rehearsal last night. Complex multi-part writing and a wide range of emotions in both.

Some lovely sedimentary load/flame structures within the Misaki unit of the Miura-Boso accretionary prism (Jogashima Island, Japan). Some of the layers have also been offset by small faults.
