God this sort of lazy 'differentiation' makes my blood boil. Couldn't expose all the children to the atlas could we? God forbid. Just have them fill in some missing gaps instead.

The sooner the profession bins the idea that there are three fixed ability groups the better.

So much teaching I observe is “Analyze this” and “What do you think?” and then the students are neither taught anything nor assessed if they know something new or not. How do we encourage teaching that arms and empowers students with actual knowledge?
