New study from Childlight - Global Child Safety Institute shows 300 MILLION children globally have experienced online child sexual abuse IN THE LAST YEAR.

The data is clear - this is a public safety emergency.

THIS is why social media platforms must be regulated to protect children.

937, 500 Australian men admit to engaging in online child sexual abuse. Going to be more than that who don’t admit to it.
Lots of us must know some, or live with one.

🚨a new report shows 1 in 8 children face online sexual abuse/exploitation a year🚨
Some will use this to suggest a smartphone ban is needed

My experience of being sexually groomed from 13-18 online shows how this would have further empowered my abuser🧵

Actively offending child sex offenders are 3x more likely to use WhatsApp (5x Signal, 27x Element) than the general population. All three companies are now mobilising again to prevent any child protection obligations.

Hold them to their record, not their PR claims.
