The Farm Act passed unanimously. This important law supports NC’s agricultural, fish, and forestry sectors; saves farms from burdensome taxes; offers protections for urban beekeepers; and creates a conservation tax credit that will protect 1M new acres by 2040. #ncpol #ncsen22

I was invited to a meeting with Department of Housing and Urban Development officials who came to town today. #ncpol #ncsen22 1/

They came to see the deplorable conditions, along with reporters from Indy & N&O. Regional manager of Millenia, the building’s landlord, was upset & called police to have us charged with trespassing. 4 officers, including district captain, showed up in 3 cars! #ncpol #ncsen22 2/

We “negotiated” our way out of the confrontation & continued meeting with HUD officials & residents. Conditions have not improved over the last year, despite our efforts. Hopefully what Department of Housing and Urban Development saw will force them to hold Millenia accountable for mess at JFK. #ncpol #ncsen22 3/3
