These 4th graders are FANS of angles! (& they can show you five different types of angles using their fans!) Riverside Elementary - OCPS
Yesterday, I successfully defended my dissertation! This has been such a great *start* to my journey, and I’m so excited for the future! 💛🖤💛 Forever grateful for the mentorship of Sarah Bush, Juli K. Dixon, and Lisa Brooks!
So excited to learn from my friends Julia Keith, Kelly Penny, and Laura Pimentel today! 😍
Mission accomplished! Earlier this school year, I was inspired by another post to curate and organize 180 math tasks on Google Slides. I just finished task #180. Recent additions come from Math is Fun, Alicia Burdess and Traci Jackson. #iteachmath bit.ly/180daysmath 1/n
These 5th graders enjoyed playing Battleship with coordinate grids! We have also played x- and y-axis Simon Says, went on a pirate treasure hunt, and completed a digital escape room to practice our skills. We’re having a fun first week of math learning! Riverside Elementary - OCPS
I loved this first day activity! Students surveyed their new classmates, getting an opportunity to talk to everyone and learn their names and birth months. They then created tally charts and bar graphs, flexing their math skills from previous grade levels. 🥰 Riverside Elementary - OCPS
I’m really loving Team Wipebook for my anchor charts! I can easily create and change the charts with the students, waste less paper, and when we finish this unit I can erase them! My students will have small printed photos in their notebooks to refer back to. Riverside Elementary - OCPS
Students collaborated to solve multi-step word problems. When groups solved correctly, they competed in skee-ball! Students were highly motivated to make sense of the tasks and solve carefully. I loved seeing them make sure their peers understood! Riverside Elementary - OCPS
Today students visited the Wizarding World of Remainders! ✨I made this lesson five years ago and it’s still my favorite for teaching about interpreting remainders. Riverside Elementary - OCPS
