Some of my S2’s watercolour studies of sealife inspired by Elizabeth Blackadder. At the end of the class the pupils where then asked to reflect on their work to further their development. 🦀🌊 #watercolours #sealife

My S3 work from today’s lesson. Pencil observational eye study mixed with some self assessment. Each lesson we will be focusing on a different feature of the face, working towards our final outcome inspired by Brno Del Zou’s ‘photo-sculpture’👀 What this space! #portrait #edpgde

Some of my S1’s leaf observations. At the end of the lesson I had the pupils swap sketchbooks and assess each other’s work. Using our L.I the pupils commented of their peers use of line and colour as well as giving advice for next steps 🍃🍁

S1 collaborative portraits. We looked at Jean Dubuffet as inspiration for our continuous line faces. With their eyes shut! The pupils needed to work together to make sure their line continued onto the next. We then used primary colours to block in sections and create pattern.

First years experimenting with colour gradients today using oil pastels! Their challenge was to select a group of colours that will gradually get lighter the closer they got to the flame. The pupils where then asked to reflected on their learning. 🕯️#edpgde #oilpastel

Last weeks continuous line madness! Learning new methods of line, colour and pattern. The pupils were also challenged to add their name into the portraits as well. We finished the lesson with some self reflection. 🧑‍🎨🎨#portraits #edpgde Moray House School of Education and Sport
