The first panel of today is Book Panel about youth stories, these panel sessions are an opportunity for youth to explore their own creativity by writing their own stories in Somali and English. #MBF2018

Faysal Heyfow on his new book “Tahriibtaye Danti Aad Leed Ma Gaadhay” explains the motive behind writing the book, talks about the dangerous crossing of many Somali young migrants. The book is based on true story of Somali migrant who came back to Kismayo after 8 years #MBF2018

The first panel of the day gets underway with these 6 young authors. The focus of the discussion is ‘youth stories’. And it’s being moderated by Roble Idle, a youth activist himself. It’s worth to mention these panelists are coming from different cities of the country. #MbF2018

Halima Tacshir, an undergraduate student & author of “Hooyo Waa lama Huraan” takes us through her book talking about the unconditional love between a mother & her children. The book reflects the role of the Somali mothers play within the society #MBF2018

Writing a book involves a rigorous & difficult process and needs a lot of commitment & dedication. Congrats to all these amazing youth who, despite a lot of challenges, managed to put their visions into books. I applaud you and look up to you. Thanks for making us proud #MBF2018

19 yr old Hinda Jama Mohamud who wrote the book “Qaran Dumis” says she was challenged by many people who underestimated her talent & knowledge/experience towards writing something about the civil war in Somalia. “U r young, U can’t write much abt civil war”. She resisted #MBF2018
