This is a perfect example of how close looking make the poetic interior repetitions of a painting come alive. Looking like this isn't merely a somehow dis-ensouled academic exercise, it's an emotional act of attention as love. The petals, the knives, the bonnet, they break me.

CHARLES WRIGHT from Bye-and-Bye (117). The poem paradoxes. The “sad” exhausted season is over-full of splendid sometimes fragmented images. The poem drifts in contemplation. Structually the poem concludes with the bees disappointment. Taoist mind no-mind teems absent/present.
