The UN Committee Against Torture has now written to the Australian Government seeking an explanation as to why its follow up report covering youth justice, immigration detention and conditions of detention in general, has not been provided (5 months overdue next week).

These dangerous, draconian deportation laws would throw people into prison and tear families apart with discriminatory travel bans. The sweeping impacts would be felt by tens of thousands of people across the Australian community. This Bill should not be passed.
