Glad to see this great preprint on Neandertal ancestry through time by Priya Moorjani Leonardo N. M. Iasi ManjushaChintalapati Benjamin Peter and collagues highlighted by Michael Price in News from Science 👇
In my latest for News from Science, I write about 'the most comprehensive picture we have to date of Neanderthal gene flow into modern human populations' (h/t Rajiv McCoy). Using 59 ancient genomes, Priya Moorjani et al posit major gene flow happened 47kya science.org/content/articl…
Happy to have played a small part in this exciting project where we dive deep into the history of Neandertal DNA that lives on in humans today! Hats off to the amazing first authors Leonardo N. M. Iasi and ManjushaChintalapati!

Great work from Priya Moorjani and team as part of the LASI-DAD study. This is a quite unique study of older Indians and we will enrich it with more -omics. the environmental and socio-economic phenotypes collected are quite unique as well.
