Managed to find 3 Firecrest walking from home today - a species increasing rapidly locally , 3 Mandarin at the local pond were a nice surprise as was a singing Sedge warbler down at the Gade #hertsbirds

Found this in a skip at work , hung it on the wall much to wife's disgust. A pair of House Sparrows moved in and the second brood are doing well! Don't know why I bothered putting up the Sparrow boxes, they are all empty! #hertsbirds

Couldn't believe it when neighbour messaged to say a Cuckoo was in her garden this morning. It's spent all day feasting on Caterpillars completely unfazed by gardeners working close by. Still showing well this evening down to a few feet! #hertsbirds

Fantastic day on the Norfolk Coast with Matt moreton , sh4rpy and Liz. We found 8 Redstart and 2 Pied Fly first thing then over 90 other species. Also Wasp spiders and my first Natterjack Toad. Many miles walked!

I took a visiting American birder to Norfolk yesterday, she has unfortunately left her phone and hat at RSPB Titchwell , any local birders up that way this week that could help bring them back somewhere a bit nearer? #hertsbirds
