We all agree that a state system that provides opportunity for all children to have access to outstanding education is a laudable ambition but adding VAT to fees isn’t going to improve the state sector. This policy is looking worse and worse by the minute. Small independent schools, faith schools, provincial schools, all getting throttled whilst the big names are unaffected. This is where an ugly, vindictive, simplistic class politics leads you.
