A12: #TeachLikeaPirateCHS I’ve had students to hand gestures to help solve equations. I’ve had them go on a scavenger hunt to solve problems posted around the room. I’ve also had class outside before

A13: #TeachLikeaPirateCHS I want to try human equations. Or give several students a different step in solving a problem and have the class move them around into the right order

A15: #TeachLikeAPirateCHS I’ve involved students during my unit on parent functions. Had them make graphs in the floor with their bodies.

A16: #TeachLikeAPirateCHS I haven’t really used any of these hooks. I’ve kinda done things backwards a few times by leaving tougher problems on the board from other classes to show my lower ones that what we are learning will be used later in other classes.

A17: #TeachLikeAPirateCHS I would@love to do more of this stuff but time is always a factor. I know students would love it but I have so much content to get through. I have done an Amazing Race style activity for Pi Day before but nothing tied to a specific unit

A18: #TeachLikeaPirateCHS I’ve done a few of these. I’ve added competition by rewarding students who get done first. I’ve had students create their own songs to remember the quadratic formula. Used funny accents to help with compound inequalities.
