Happy 50th day of school from the Jellyfish class!! We celebrated with finding different ways to count and group 50 snacks, making equations with the sum of 50, and enjoying coke floats! Cullman City Primary

The Jellyfish had a great Halloween full of flashlight phonics, Halloween bingo, sweet treats, costume parade, and Cullman City Primary Fall Festival! ππΈοΈ
Students wrote narratives about their disguised turkeys. After reading Balloons Over Broadway, student created their own floats and participated in our very own parade: Balloons Over CCPS! We had a blast joining the other 2nd grade classes in the parade. Cullman City Primary π¦π
To introduce our comprehension skill and the use of a Venn Diagram, we compared and contrasted the May twins in our class. Everyone was surprised to find out twins can have many differences. Cullman City Primary

Today we started our first novel study of the year, The One and Only Ivan! Students were introduced to the RACE writing strategy while analyzing the setting of the story. Iβm so excited to dive into a good book with a new group of 4th graders. π¦ π EastElementary

This week students published their argumentative essays on the topic: Should animals live in the zoo or jungle? Students had strong opinions about this topic after reading The One and Only Ivan and researching local zoo care. EastElementary
After reading a biography on Louis Braille, students used his braille code to write and decipher secret messages. Then they wrote an opinion writing on if they thought it was difficult for Louis to create his writing system. EastElementary
