Exploring surface area of prisms with my 6th graders using nets. We made 3D pull up nets yesterday! They loved it and I’m glad they can see first hand that a prism can be broken down into simple shapes they already know how to find the area of! #netsofprisms Arcadia Unified
My 7th grade students are learning about the angle measures of triangles. To informally prove that the angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees, I had them tear the angles of a triangle apart and assemble them next to each other to form a straight angle! Arcadia Unified
At Open House, I had a Love Note station where families were welcome to write a note of encouragement to their child. These are some of the notes, SO sweet! Arcadia Unified
We’re learning about theoretical vs. experimental probability, so I gave students dice and asked them to roll it 100 times, recording how many times they rolled a 2! Tomorrow, we’ll analyze our findings! #7thgrademath Arcadia Unified
An end of the year activity to review all the year’s material! Mathketball! 🏀 The kids were SUPER into it! Got the idea from the teacher blog, Count It All Joy! #math6activities Arcadia Unified
Math 7 students are doing a scavenger hunt to practice finding circumference and areas of circles! #iteachmath Arcadia Unified
Students played Grudgeball today to review concepts for our assessment tomorrow! My 6th graders got REALLY into it!!!! #iteachmath Arcadia Unified
Math 7 students are learning about finding surface area of prisms. What better way to demonstrate that a cylinder is simply a rectangle with 2 circular bases than with a pull-up net?! #iteachmath #mathteacher Arcadia Unified
