On this day in 1980- Freshman QB John Bond threw for 151yds and ran for 163 in #16 Mississippi State’s 19-14 win over ole miss in Jackson.   State trailed 14-13 in the 4th quarter before Michael Haddix’s TD run gave MSU the lead.

20 years ago today- #5 MSU rallied from an 18pt deficit and beat Alabama 82-81 in overtime, winning the 2004 SEC Title.   Timmy Bowers had 20pts, 8ast, and made last-second shots at the end of regulation and overtime. Lawrence Roberts: 18pts, 21reb.
