PSA: the Observatory is not a good place to watch meteor showers. Because it is on the first ridge of the San Gabriels, there is too much light coming from the city - also, our gates close at 5PM. Science Director Tim Thompson advises heading to the desert, e.g. Joshua Tree NP.
