If you ask 100 teachers what they want in their administration, 99 will say “SUPPORT.” And 1 teacher didn’t understand the question. If you’re a school leader, I hope you’re looking for ways to support your teachers.

At lunch, I heard a teacher tell a colleague: “These students have a lot on their plates right now. I feel for them.” I love that level of empathy for kids! It’s also great when administrators remember how much teachers have on THEIR plates!

Teachers are not successful because they have the right curriculum, the right lesson plan, or the right resources. They are successful because they have the right mindset.

Teachers foster curiosity and creativity when they value good questions as much as they value right answers.

The best thing teachers can do for their colleagues… is to bring a positive attitude to work every day.  Positive energy is contagious.
