lots of people pointing out that fantasy doesnt have to be "realistic," and that's true, but i'm here to point out that instruction for cleft lip/palate surgery appear in the 10th century medieval Leechbook, an ancient medical text. surgery isn't that new of an idea.

if you're positing a fantasy world where gender transition is a conceivable idea (which really isn't that much of a stretch--medical castration is way way way older than medieval times, for example)--then it's actually perfectly plausible to imagine medieval surgical methods

One of the best things about Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is that as time goes on I genuinely stopped thinking about her being voiced by a man and just went with it.

I think it's a testament to how well-written she is and how great Hammer is in the part.
