Palestinian artist Ismail Shammout at the age of 17/18 in Khan Yunis refugee camp, Gaza, in 1948. He and his family had just been expelled from their home by Israeli forces in al-Lydd/Lydda in what became known as the 'Lydda Death March' (just one event within the wider Nakba).
