A case of the ‘glass ceiling’ for AHPs & their career progression? AHPs could provide dynamic leadership in this role. Sadly not the first time I’ve seen an ad like this. We AHPs deserve the opportunity for a seat at the table!! Royal College of Occupational Therapists RCOT Policy Northern Ireland @warner_md Belfast Trust

Today we have written to both Western Trust and Belfast Trust to ask on behalf of AHPs from all 13 professions why they are prevented from applying for these posts to lead their own professions. WeAHPs 💙

On #WorldParkinsonsDay wouldn’t it be wonderful if PWP in Northern Ireland had access to highly skilled Community Neuro therapy teams like the rest of the UK #NeuroOccupationalTherapy #NeuroPhysio #SLT @RobinSwann_MLA Parkinson's UK Northern Ireland Kathy Eastwood Nuala Mc Ivor RCOT Policy Northern Ireland

Emma Dunn Dermot Quinn Aisling Durkin Nicola Moran L Fitz Somewhere in the pressures on NHS to move patients through the system and free up acute beds, the value of rehabilitation is being lost. AHPs are the right people to deliver this whether in specialist rehab units or in the community. We need more AHP consultant led services.

Good foot care, alongside appropriate footwear helps to reduce the risk of falling. Take care of your feet and give your footwear a second thought!

Occupational Therapists in Reablement and Community Rehab are invaluable in supporting people to engage in the daily occupations they need to do or want to be able to do with the aim of remaining in or returning to their own home.
