‘It costs to care and we have to make sure foster carers are remunerated in the right ways’ Our CEO Sarah Thomas spoke to Naga Munchetty on BBC Radio 5 Live this morning about foster carer fees.📻 Our new report 'Out of Pocket: Fairer Fees for Foster Carers' will go live this afternoon.

We surveyed all local authority fostering services and found that too many are providing inadequate fee payments to their foster carers.

Almost half of fostering services are providing between £100-200 per week, which for most fostering families is an annual income of £5,200 - £10,400 per year.

It’s unacceptable that there are such huge differences in fees paid to foster carers. We are calling on all governments across the UK to invest in a strong fee framework, to ensure foster carers can continue to support children and young people to thrive. #CostOfFostering
