Drove around with my new #radiacode. This is the background count along my drive. Overall, higher in the mountains and lower near the Snake River valley. But the count wasn't the same going up and down the same mountain road.

Visited the collapsed Teton dam yesterday to do some rockhounding. It failed in June 1976, killing 14 people. The sides and a central mountain remain of the earthen dam.

The pavilion and pavilion breaks have been polished. Next to do the crown. To do that, I'll have to transfer the stone to a 45° adapter. But that's a story for tomorrow. #lapidary #gemstone

After mowing the lawn, I found some time to turn another calligraphy pen nib holder. This one was turned out of lilac wood. #woodworking #calligraphy

To make the crown, I have to set the angle to 45° and then put a 45° angle jig into the end of the quill. Because of the mast, the quill cannot be set to 0° or straight up and down to make the crown.

While waiting for the bread baker to finish kneading dough, I spent a sometime in the shop turning another calligraphy pen nib holder. This one is made from either apple or pear, I don't remember for sure which.

What started out as a 56.68 ct chunk of amethyst ended up as a 12.125 ct faceted gemstone. That's the yield of 21%. So, a lot of the amethyst was ground away. #lapidary

Some tomatoes, basil, oregano, thyme, grapes, plums and a blackberry. Not a bad harvest for today. #gardening #GardeningTwitter
