The lake, which is approximately 39,081.87 square meters in size and located upstream of Thame Village in Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, caused the devastation in Thame Village on August 16th. It is located on the way to Tashi Lapcha Pass from Thame.

2/4: Thankfully, there were no casualties as the flood happened midday, letting many, including schoolchildren, escape. The thought of such a disaster at night is chilling, highlighting our mountain communities' vulnerability and the urgent reality of climate change.

3/4: Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful. After the 2015 earthquake, Thame suffered extensive damage, but the community rebuilt stronger and better. I believe Thame will rise again, restored to its former glory and even stronger than before.

4/4: Every disaster tests our resilience, but it also strengthens it. WE, THE MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY will emerge united, determined to protect our homes and way of life. Now, more than ever, we must raise our voices to the global community. Our stories and struggles need to be heard.
