Chemist and X-ray crystallographer, Rosalind Franklin was born #OTD 1920. Newnham College alumna, her work was central to the understanding of the molecular structure of DNA and the molecular structures of viruses. She died of ovarian cancer aged only 37. #WomenInSTEM

#OTD in 1994 Nobel Prize winning chemist, X-ray crystallographer & alumna Dorothy Hodgkin died. She won the Nobel 60 yrs ago for her work in mapping the structure of vitamin B12. She is the only British woman to have been awarded a Nobel in any of the three sciences it recognises

It's been a wonderful two weeks of sporting brilliance from athletes around the world. Cambridge Alumni have competed in nearly every Summer Games since the first in 1896. So far, 369 alumni have competed in 30 different sports, including three Paralympians and 14 Winter
