On This Day in #NH History: NH became the 9th and last necessary state of the original 13 colonies to ratify the U.S. Constitution. The main motion to ratify the Constitution with recommended, not conditional, amendments - passed by 10 votes, 57-47, at exactly 1 p.m.

We're renovating but we're still open for business! The Hall of Flags is getting new paint (and other areas), we're remodeling offices and installing new ac units throughout the complex. Visitors can use the Park St entrance - just follow the signs from the basement level!

We have broken ground for the Christa McAuliffe statue that will be prominently on display at the State House! *Christa McAuliffe State House Memorial Commission was established by Gov. Sununu's Executive Order 2023-02. Reps. Shurtleff & McGough serve on the commission.

House Clerk Paul Smith and Secretary of the Senate for Idaho, Jennifer Novak presented Order Up: Plating Precedence at the National Conference of State Legislatures Summit in Kentucky. He did a great job!

Located across the street, the Legislative Office Building houses our committee rooms. It's one of the state's largest buildings built out of locally quarried granite. Originally a post office, it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Old Post Office.

Our colleague, Bob Edmonds, is retiring after 31 years of service! He has been a friendly and familiar face, ready to greet you and/or help in any way. We wish him the best of luck in his endeavors and thank him for service with the General Court of NH!
