Watching the end of this Knicks game is reminiscent of watching those Bulls seasons end. Those Thibs teams gave everything they had — both NYC and Chicago fell in love with the effort the players gave every night — but for a variety of reasons they fell short.

The Cubs are so painfully mediocre. All the games feel the same. They can’t hit consistently, the bullpen is bad — and what makes this group even worse is they’re boring. No compelling personalities, nobody who makes you feel like anything is really going to change.

A good reminder for all teams in Chicago — especially baseball. Stars cost the most money. Stars help you win more games. Fans pay to see stars. Either develop stars from within or pay more when they hit free agency. Do not, under any circumstances, pay non stars, star money.

There is nobody better at giving the historical context around sports — and the all time greats that make up each game — than Bob Costas.

This is an honest, real answer here from Kerr. Appreciate it given the empty world salad responses that most coaches in pro sports give these days.

.Pau Gasol really seems to be living his best life in retirement. On top of being a new dad, he’s like the where’s Waldo of sports just popping up at all the big events. He just put the gold medal on Scheffler at the Olympics. Awesome.

Of course it was Steph, LeBron and KD making the big plays down the stretch. They carried Team USA the same way they’ve been carrying the NBA for the better part of two decades.

It remains such a joke the way the Cubs continue to treat Sammy Sosa. He’s still not a member of their new HOF—let alone throw out a first pitch at Wrigley or wave to fans at a convention. They had no problem counting all the $$ he made for organization, but won’t accept him now
